Red Socks fundraising

The Red Socks event and run, walk or cycle 60kms was an event in October 2022 to raise awareness and funds for kidney disease.

The Luca Miraglia Foundation team and friends committed to pulling on their red socks and running 60km in the month of October 2022 to support kidney disease patients who spend 60 hours on average on life-saving dialysis treatments each month. (or many like Luca, who did over 60 hours per week!)

With every kilometre, we hoped to help the 25,000 Australians living with kidney failure access the vital support and care they need on their hardest days. ❤️

Special mention to two long time supporters, Clara Stockdale and Ask the Mrs. Cleaning, for their extremely generous donations, which supported us in reaching our fundraising goal of $1000.

“The run was very challenging but the pain I felt was temporary and absolutely incomparable with the physical, mental and emotional pain and fear felt by those dealing with kidney failure, dialysis as life support, the extreme rollercoaster of a transplant and for some, the grief of a failed transplant or the loss of a love one to kidney disease.”
